[General anesthesia in surgery for retinal detachment (author's transl)].

A report on operations for retinal detachment performed under general anesthetic during the last five years. These were restricted to selected patients. If requirements regarding operating rooms and personnel can be satisfied, general anesthesia should be the general rule in retina surgery, neuroleptanalgesia being the ideal type of anesthesia.
