A case of rupture of the uterus during pregnancy with concomitant injury of the sigmoid is reported. This complication followed a multiple myomectomy performed during a previous pregnancy. The initial symptom was a septic fever. However two clinical signs proved pathognomonic for the diagnosis: the passing of blood clots and gas through the anus, and the presence of free gas in the abdomen. Hysterectomy with colostomy is the most suitable treatment.
