The history of percutaneous transluminal angioplasty is briefly reviewed, from its initial, inadvertent use in 1963 to its current extensive applications. Transluminal angioplasty is equally as effective as surgery for stenotic lesions, and has the advantages of being safer and less expensive for the patient.
本文简要回顾了经皮腔内血管成形术的历史，从1963年首次意外应用到目前的广泛应用。对于狭窄病变，腔内血管成形术与手术同样有效，且对患者来说更安全、费用更低。
