Intragastric injection of 0.35 ml of 25% ethanol results in parthenogenetic development of ovulated mouse eggs. The maximum effect (72%) was reached as result of ethanol injection 7 hours after ovulation and the minimum one (28%) 9 hours following ovulation. The parthenogenetic embryos were haploid. No activation of the mouse egg was observed after intragastric administration of ethanol.
