Abstract

The degradation rates and half-lives of ubiquinone turn-over in the rat liver and kidneys were determined after subtotal hepatectomy or mononephrectomy. In normal animals the half-life of ubiquinone in the liver was equal to 12.46 days, and that in the kidneys to 13.27 days. In the regenerating liver, ubiquinone degradation significantly fell and that in the hypertrophied kidney rose.
