Polymyositis, breast carcinoma, and interstitial lung disease.

A patient with symptoms of respiratory insufficiency was found to have interstitial lung disease, polymyositis, and breast carcinoma. Signs and symptoms of pulmonary disease rapidly reversed with prednisone and cytotoxic drug therapy. This is the 1st such case reported and stresses the need for careful evaluation of similar patients.
