The paper deals with the question of the occurrence and possible importance of the glioma-specific humoral antibodies to the growth of malignant gliomas. The use of the immunofluorescence technique by means of fluorescein isothiocyanate labelled antihuman immunoglobulin sera permits to make the presence of antibodies of various types in the tumor cell membranes of autopsy material probable. Such non-cytotoxic antibodies might promote the growth of malignant gliomas by an inhibition of the cell-mediated immunoreaction (efferent enhancement).
本文探讨了神经胶质瘤特异性体液抗体的出现及其对恶性神经胶质瘤生长可能具有的重要性这一问题。通过异硫氰酸荧光素标记的抗人免疫球蛋白血清运用免疫荧光技术,有可能证实尸检材料的肿瘤细胞膜中存在各类抗体。这类无细胞毒性的抗体可能通过抑制细胞介导的免疫反应(传出增强)来促进恶性神经胶质瘤的生长。
