As a result of a clinico-experimental study data on the state of the thiol-disulfide and ascorbate systems in the acute period of brain concussion have been for the first time obtained, and the role of those systems in the development of the vegetative disturbances, hypoxia and increased vascular permeability has been specified. A good therapeutic effect from the use of penicillamine in this pathology is demonstrated. It is recommended that the determination of the state of the above systems should be used for observing the treatment efficacy and determining the duration of patients' hospitalization.
