Tissue analysis for thiazide diuretics.

With the advent of liquid chromatography, identification and quantitation of thiazides by use of milder, non-destructive techniques will be at our disposal. Alternative methods, however, are available. The scheme of analysis presented here--i.e. initial screening with a sensitive but nonspecific colorimetric technique, identification and confirmation with thin-layer chromatography and gas chromatography, and quantitation by gas chromatographic techniques--is a realistic approach to the analysis of diuretics in tissue.
