Studies on the variability of the characteristics of air mycelium and physiological and biochemical properties of the colonies issued from a strain of Thermoactinomyces vulgaris. This strain had air mycelium split into sectors. It has been observed that among the above-mentioned colonies the splitting of air mycelium into sectors of varied growth intensifies. The issued colonies grown from the spores from the sector of a feeble growth of the air mycelium are characterized by a considerable variability of morphological features. The physiological and biochemical activity of the issued colonies is weaker in comparison with the typical strain of Thermoactinomyces vulgaris Tsiklinsky 1899.
