Little information is available on suicidal attempts using air guns. In this paper we report an unusual suicide of a 85-year-old pensioner. We also report on additional experiments regarding the power of bullets to penetrate various materials. These experiments are designed to contribute to the understanding of the details of contact gunshots. The results are discussed and compared with those from other authors.
