This study showed a dramatic decrease in the amount of postoperative corneal edema and endothelial cell loss when Healon was injected into the anterior chamber during cataract surgery and used to coat an iris suture medallion-style lens prior to its insertion. Significant postoperative intraocular pressure elevations lasting 24 to 48 hours were frequently encountered when Healon was not irrigated from the eye after surgery. Dilution of intracameral Healon immediately after lens implantation eliminated postoperative pressure elevation.
本研究表明，在白内障手术期间向前房注射Healon并在植入虹膜缝扣式人工晶状体之前用其覆盖人工晶状体时，术后角膜水肿量和内皮细胞损失显著减少。当术后未从眼内冲洗Healon时，经常会出现持续24至48小时的显著术后眼压升高。人工晶状体植入后立即稀释前房内的Healon可消除术后眼压升高。
