Abstract
A new totally implantable hydraulic sphincter prosthesis which differs from other systems by a very simple function is presented. The construction and the performance are described and the results of animal experiments are reported. The clinical application of this device in 3 female and 4 male patients has been successful. Indications and contraindications are discussed.
