[Treatment of acute inflammatory exacerbations in lymphoedema of the lower limbs (author's transl)].

The current acute inflammatory episodes result in increasingly marked lymphoedema. Treatment of such acute episodes begins by their prevention: reduction in weight, general hygiene, avoidance of standing for long periods, no exposure to heat, correction of static problems with the feet, treatment of inter-digital fungal infections. The treatment of acute inflammatory exacerbations involves a combination of antibiotics and anti-inflammatory agents, together with diuretics. Such treatment may be given intermittently, in order to prevent recurrences.
