[Use of ultrafiltration to obtain serum devoid of lipoproteins].

As compared with extraction of lipids using organic solvents or preparative ultracentrifugation a proposed procedure of ultrafiltration enabled to obtain rapidly an appropriate amounts of blood serum free of lipids and apoproteins, which, except for high molecular components impeded by membrane, is similar to the native blood serum. Blood serum free of both lipids and apoproteins permits of best interpretation of the data obtained in study of sterol synthesis in mononuclear leukocytes.
