[Surgery of the extrahepatic bile ducts].

The surgery of the bile-deviating system possesses approved methods which guarantee a successful proceeding. They are supplemented by endoscopic interventions which in the development will contribute to the further improvement of the treatment. Difficulties appear in the surgical therapy of the inflammatory and malignant obstructions of the biliferous duct. In this case the early diagnosis as well as an improved technical approach is indicated. It is referred to the possibilities of the formation of a permanent and functional deviation of bile. The treatment of malignant processes still too often and too early is regarded with an unnecessary resignation and thus the patients are denied proved chances of survival. The possibilities are entered to procede in this case successfully in operation.
