The electron microscopic examinations of formed elements of human peripheral blood infected with a freshly isolated A/Sev/76 virus strain and vaccine A/Victoria/36/72 virus demonstrated that virions of both strains adsorbed on neutrophils, lymphocytes, monocytes, thrombocytes and penetrated into the cells by phagocytosis and viropexis; most virus was concentrated in neutrophils and thrombocytes.
