In metallurgic workers exposed to manganese, ferric oxides, chromates, noise, thermal radiation and enhanced temperature in surroundings, a lower level of alpha 2-macroglobulin at an unlowered level of alpha 1-antitrypsin was observed. There was no relationship between either the length of employment or chronic bronchitis and level of alpha 1-antitrypsin and alpha 2-macroglobulin in the blood of workers under study.
