An increasing number of physicians are considering laparoscopy to be a viable alternative to conventional procedures. To meet the complex educational needs of the patient, health care providers must continually update their assessment and communication skills. This article discusses methods are tools to be used in providing procedure-specific patient education for endoscopic procedures.
