Cholinesterase activity at the motor end-plates was studied histochemically in the brachialis muscle of a variety of binds. In every case the enzyme reacted more strongly with propionyl and acetyl thiocholine than with butyryl salt. The fibres were supplied through 'en grappe' nerve endings. Each fibre had several such endings located along its length.
