Two main groups of goals in psychotherapeutic interventions in cancer patients are identified. First, process goals, which include the provision of information and instrumental support, assistance in expressing emotions, dealing with the the meaning of the disease, increasing patients' sense of coherence, enhancing personal resources, improving communication, gaining control and improving the ability to cope. Second, primary goals, which are aimed at decreasing somatic symptoms and psychosocial sequelae of cancer and its treatment, and enhancing adjustment, acceptance, and quality of life.
癌症患者心理治疗干预中的目标主要分为两类。第一类是过程目标,包括提供信息和工具性支持、协助表达情感、应对疾病的意义、增强患者的连贯感、提升个人资源、改善沟通、获得掌控感以及提高应对能力。第二类是主要目标,旨在减轻癌症及其治疗的躯体症状和心理社会后遗症,并增强适应能力、接受程度和生活质量。
