[Nuclear medicine diagnosis of lung embolism through the combined perfusion-ventilation scintigraphy].

Perfusion lung scanning has improved the diagnosis of pulmonary embolism. Additional ventilation scanning has decreased the number of false positive results, considerably. The incidence of pulmonary embolism, demonstrated by combined perfusion ventilation scanning, in our patients with phlebothrombosis, comprised 54%.
