Rapid, accurate seating and cementation of permanent implant abutment heads that have been substantially altered for interocclusal clearance or parallelism requirements can be accomplished with individual, custom cast, insertion devices. The evolution and design of these devices (abutment transfer drivers) for fixed and removable prostheses are described.
