Patients with mitral valve prolapse, chest pain with normal coronary arteries, and neurologic syndromes following cardiac surgery constitute a group that may present atypically, thus posing problems in management. The management of patients with cardiac disease receiving electroconvulsive therapy and of those on psychotropic drugs is also different from that of the usual cardiology patient seen in the hospital. Clinical approaches are suggested for the evaluation and treatment of each of these specific conditions.
