[Morphological changes in the gastric mucosa in ulcerative pyloroduodenal stenosis before and after various operations].

The article deals with the appraisal of the gastric mucosa in various developmental stages of pyloroduodenal stenosis. The characteristics of the mucosa after selective proximal vagotomy (SPV) and after resection of the stomach are compared. It was found that the normal structure of the gastric mucosa is restored 12 month after SPV. Chronic gastritis with signs of dystrophy as well as intestinal and pseudopyloric metaplasia develops after resection of the stomach.
