Abstract

54 inpatients of a medical department in a general hospital were explored at the end of the hospital stay and three months later about the treatment in the inpatient and in the outpatient setting, the threatening doctors also were asked about the patients' behaviour. Patients' content with the medical treatment was surprisingly high in both settings, but the doctors in the hospital as well as the home doctors had a more critical view of the cooperation with the ill. All these results were independent of age, social level of the ill and of some characteristics of the illnesses, from which the patients suffered, but some significant correlations were found with the emotional state of the patients. These results are a good base for further investigations with improved methods.
