Health care organizations of today are in rapid transition with changes in roles, structures, and expectations. These circumstances may find those in patient care and nursing executive roles either choosing to leave their challenging and stressful positions or receiving the message that the organization no longer desires to have the employment relationship continued. The career adjustments are many and often difficult for those who have spent a lifetime to reach the executive level. Successful strategies during this time of transition are critical for continued and successful careers.
