A contrary viewpoint concerning certain issues in soft-tissue sarcoma pathology is presented. Three issues emphasized are (1) the role of immunocytochemistry and electron microscopy in diagnosis, (2) the classification of liposarcomas and atypical lipomatous tumors, and (3) the validity and usefulness of histologic grading.
