Abstract

Electropermeabilization of erythrocyte membrane was performed using square electric field pulses of 50 microseconds and 1 ms pulse length. The electrohemolysis efficiency has a sigmoid dependence on the electric field strength given mainly by the statistical distribution of erythrocytes radius. The normalized dimensional distribution function for a human erythrocyte population was determined from electropermeabilization data.
