Contemporary concepts in the pathogenesis of the Class V non-carious lesion.

The aetiology and pathogenesis of non-carious loss of tooth tissue are not fully understood, especially with respect to the cervical area of teeth. In this article the authors describe the current state of knowledge and emphasize the practitioner's duty to become aware of the pathogenesis of these lesions.
