The authors suggest an original method for the management of short obliterations in the pelvic part of the urethra. The method is related to minor surgical interventions and is based on the formation of a compression anastomosis with the use of mechanical compression devices. A postponed by-pass anastomosis is formed which, according to the authors, makes it possible to reduce significantly the number of complications. The results of treatment of 7 children with short posttraumatic obliterations of the posterior urethra are discussed. The operation was successful in 6 cases and only in one cases did the stricture recur.
