The Kilkenny Health Project (KHP) was established in 1985 as a community-based research and demonstration programme for cardiovascular disease in County Kilkenny, Ireland, and as a pilot programme for future national initiatives. This article examines the penetration of the Project into the community, the extent of knowledge of, contact with, or participation in its activities.
