Our technique permits the application of other histological and immunohistological methods to sections of CNS already impregnated in a modified Golgi-Cox solution. This combined approach gives a more comprehensive picture of anatomical, cytological and antigenic relationships. Furthermore the technique is reproducible, sections are of known thickness and there is no problem with long term storage. Details of the technique are given and its application in neuroanatomy and neuropathology is discussed.
