Abstract

Neurons projecting from the red nucleus to the spinal cord in the Formosan monkey were identified with retrograde horseradish peroxidase and tritiated proline and fucose antegrade autoradiographic tracing methods. A topographic organization of projections from the red nucleus to the spinal cord was demonstrated. Medial and dorsal portions of the rostral red nucleus projected to the rostral half of the spinal cord. Neurons in the ventrolateral part of the red nucleus emitted fibers which terminated in the caudal half of the spinal cord. The spinal projections from the red nucleus are bilateral, but contralateral projection is dominant. These results indicated a well developed rubrospinal tract existence in the Formosan monkey.

运用逆行辣根过氧化物酶法以及氚化脯氨酸和岩藻糖顺行放射自显影追踪法,鉴定了台湾猕猴中从红核投射至脊髓的神经元。结果显示了红核至脊髓投射的拓扑组织。吻侧红核的内侧和背侧部分投射至脊髓的吻侧半。红核腹外侧部的神经元发出的纤维终止于脊髓的尾侧半。红核的脊髓投射是双侧性的,但对侧投射占主导。这些结果表明台湾猕猴中存在发育良好的红核脊髓束。
