The intravenous nurse and the oncology nurse are confronted with controversies associated with the delivery of chemotherapy. Most specifically, both professionals are faced with conflicting issues associated with the management of extravasation and the handling of antineoplastic agents. In this article, current management strategies and controversies in the literature regarding these issues are explored.
