Abstract
The author reviews the main gastrointestinal complications of systemic lupus erythematosus, polyarteritis nodosa and Behçet's disease. Albeit rare, these manifestations are usually severe, sometimes fatal and always a difficult diagnostic challenge requiring much awareness from the clinician.
