This articles reviews the effects of smoking on the cardiovascular system. Smoking accelerates and aggravates atherosclerosis and increases the risk of coronary artery disease and its clinical manifestations (unstable angina, acute myocardial infarction and sudden death), cerebrovascular diseases, aortic aneurysms and peripheral artery occlusive diseases. Smoking is considered the most important modifiable risk factor for these diseases. Fortunately, quitting smoking reduces and even normalizes cardiovascular risk.
本文综述了吸烟对心血管系统的影响。吸烟会加速并加重动脉粥样硬化，增加冠状动脉疾病及其临床表现（不稳定型心绞痛、急性心肌梗死和猝死）、脑血管疾病、主动脉瘤和外周动脉闭塞性疾病的风险。吸烟被认为是这些疾病最重要的可改变风险因素。幸运的是，戒烟可以降低甚至使心血管风险恢复正常。
