Congestive heart failure is common. Since prognosis depends on activation of neurohumoral systems, treatment with beta-blocking agents seems to be appropriate in spite of their negative inotropic effects. According to the results of the studies published hitherto, mortality was not reduced by beta blockers, but the clinical course, symptoms and hemodynamic parameters were influenced positively, particularly in patients with congestive cardiomyopathy. Further studies are necessary in order to establish specific advantages of beta-blocking agents in patients with heart failure, before they are recommended for routine therapy in medical practice.
充血性心力衰竭很常见。由于预后取决于神经体液系统的激活，尽管β受体阻滞剂具有负性肌力作用，但使用它们进行治疗似乎是合适的。根据迄今发表的研究结果，β受体阻滞剂并未降低死亡率，但对临床病程、症状和血流动力学参数有积极影响，尤其是在充血性心肌病患者中。在推荐将β受体阻滞剂用于临床常规治疗之前，有必要进行进一步研究以确定其在心力衰竭患者中的具体优势。
