It is not easy for a physician to assume the responsibility of an ocular emergency! Short informations have been given about ophthalmology during the medical studies. However, it is possible with little ophthalmological knowledge to have a good approach of ocular emergencies, if we use good questions to the patient, and rudimentary examination methods. With well adapted interrogations, few tools, the physician is able to conclude to the real cause of a sudden blindness, an ocular redness or pain! Some correct treatments will be recommended before requiring of a complementary exams by an ophthalmologist.
