It is generally known that the relationship between the two preeminent American neurosurgeons, Harvey Cushing and Walter Dandy, was strained and far from amicable. Their differences began when both men were at Johns Hopkins and continued when Cushing moved to Boston and Dandy remained in Baltimore.
