The experience gained by the authors in the treatment of Menière's disease and similar affections which are supposed to have 3 stages provided the following approach to their treatment: after examination of the cochleovestibular analyzer involvement good results may be expected of conservative treatment in stage I-II, chordoplexectomy is justified in stage I, drainage or decompression of the endolymphatic sac and vestibulotomy are indicated in stage II and III, respectively.
