(R/S)-Isochroman-1-carboxylic acid (1) is resolved to its enantiomers and as well as these reacted with 6-aminopenicillanic acid to the title compounds 2. The activity of the new penicillin-derivatives against gram positive and gram negative bacteria is compared with that of benzyl penicillin.
