Pigmented villonodular synovitis (PVNS) of the knee is a well-recognized entity. We report on two cases of localized PVNS that involved the patellar fat pad, an area of involvement not previously reported. Diagnostic and therapeutic arthroscopies were performed, and typical findings of localized PVNS were found. Complete resection of the lesions were performed arthroscopically. At short-term follow-up, all symptoms had resolved. Arthroscopy can be used as an effective diagnostic tool for identification of intraarticular PVNS of the knee. In the case of localized involvement, it also can be considered as definitive treatment.
膝关节色素沉着绒毛结节性滑膜炎（PVNS）是一种广为人知的病症。我们报告了两例局限型PVNS，其累及髌下脂肪垫，这是此前未报告过的受累区域。我们进行了诊断性和治疗性关节镜检查，并发现了局限型PVNS的典型表现。通过关节镜对病变进行了完整切除。短期随访时，所有症状均已缓解。关节镜可作为诊断膝关节内PVNS的有效工具。对于局限性受累的情况，它也可被视为确定性治疗方法。
