Abstract

This manuscript presents a comprehensive look at the assessment and management of chronic constipation in the elderly. Chronic constipation is a common problem among the elderly. Pharmacologic and nonpharmacologic treatment measures can be used to manage this problem. This information can serve the practitioner as a practice guideline in the diagnosis and treatment of chronic constipation in the elderly.
