The rectus abdominis myocutaneous flap has been reported for pelvic floor and neovaginal reconstruction following pelvic exenteration but not for neovulvar reconstruction following radical vulvectomy. The present report describes our preliminary experience with the inferiorly based transverse rectus abdominis muscle (TRAM) flap in five patients who underwent radical vulvectomy for invasive squamous cell carcinoma of the vulva.
