[Alteration in lipid peroxide content in cerebral cysticercosis].

Serum lipid peroxide (LPO) content in eighty-three cases of cysticercosis cellulosae was determined by the fluorescence method. the results showed that the LPO level in epileptic type and non-epileptic type of cerebral cysticercosis was significantly higher than that in the normal controls (P < 0.01). No significant difference in LPO was observed between epileptic type and non-epileptic type (P > 0.05). The results showed that LPO might play a role in the pathophysiology of cerebral cysticercosis.
