A severe deficit in studies providing a valid assessment of indication of psychotherapy in different population samples and care settings must be stated for the FRG. Actual decisions in health care politics are not supported by sufficient empirical data. The objective of this study was to gain an overview on the psychotherapy of depressive syndromes, treated by psychiatrists in practice. The psychotherapeutic treatment methods of 55 psychiatrist's in practice, applicated to a sample of 9956 depressive patients, are documented. Supportive psychotherapy was common whereas the use of structured psychodynamic or behavioral therapy was highly selective.
必须指出，在联邦德国，严重缺乏对不同人群样本和护理环境中心理治疗适应症进行有效评估的研究。医疗保健政策中的实际决策缺乏足够的实证数据支持。本研究的目的是对精神科医生在实际工作中治疗的抑郁综合征心理治疗情况进行概述。记录了55名精神科医生在实际工作中对9956名抑郁症患者样本所采用的心理治疗方法。支持性心理治疗很常见，而结构化心理动力疗法或行为疗法的使用则具有高度选择性。
