On the basis of a case-report of a eighteen months old Bordeaux Dog bitch the diagnostical procedures, differential diagnoses and surgery of the luxation of the tendon of the M. Flexor digitorum superficialis are reviewed. Therapy includes surgical reconstruction of the retinaculum of the tendon on the tuber calcanei. Immobilisation postoperatively by means of a splint during 3 weeks followed by a Robert-Jones bandage for another 3 weeks is essential. Treatment was successful and the dog returned to full function.
