Abstract

Pimpla instigator energetic assimilation efficiency is higher when bred on Pieris brassicae diapausing pupae which are characterized by a lack of organized tissue and a higher glucids/proteins + lipids ratio. The male larvae do not use the heaviest hosts very well (C.U. relatively small) but the female larvae of P. instigator can assimilate more energy than the male.
