Fine needle aspiration biopsy cytology was utilised as a diagnostic devise for 355 osteolytic lesions in various parts of the body. Adequate material was obtained in 338 cases. A definite diagnosis was provided in 87.3% of the adequate samples. No false positive diagnosis was made. No complication was encountered in this procedure. Processing of aspirated blood clot as tissue sample helped to increase the accuracy of this procedure.
